More about this game

Switchlight Lab challenges you to calibrate six different optical chambers by turning a grid of amber minus nodes into blue plus nodes. You control edge switches that flip the state of an entire row or column at once. The difficulty increases as you progress from three-by-three grids like First Light to four-by-four grids like Phase Shift. A chamber is calibrated when every single light shines blue, but achieving perfect calibration requires matching the exact optimal move count displayed on your screen.

Tips
  • Flipping a row or column twice returns it to its original state, so avoid redundant moves if you want to hit the optimal par score.
  • Check the optimal move count before you start; some early three-by-three chambers require only one or two precise flips to solve.
  • Work backward from the blue plus nodes. Sometimes it is easier to visualize which lines need to be flipped to turn the remaining amber minus nodes.
Questions

How many levels are there?

There are exactly six chambers to calibrate. The first three chambers feature a three-by-three grid, while the final three chambers expand into a more complex four-by-four grid layout.

What happens if I make too many moves?

You can still complete the chamber, but you will not achieve the perfect calibration rating. You can always hit the replay button to try and match the optimal move count.

Can I undo a move if I make a mistake?

Yes, there is an undo button that lets you step back through your previous moves one by one, and a reset button to completely restart the current chamber.
